Charles Rios is currently a second-year graduate student at Roosevelt University pursuing a master’s degree in Music Composition. He attended Western Illinois University for his undergraduate studies where he studied with composers Paul Paccione, James Romig, and James Caldwell. Recently he was selected as a winner of Roosevelt University’s Vector Project and Wind Ensemble competition, and as a runner up in the Timothy McAllister Saxophone Competition. As a composer for all mediums and ensembles, he has written works for a variety of ensembles large and small and has previously received commissions to compose music for two video games. Charles is currently a student of Kyong Mee Choi and Stacy Garrop.
